As a company we have a duty to do business more responsibly and do our bit for the environment.
We recently carried out a sustainability review and are pleased to say that small changes have made significant impact, reducing our carbon emissions by more than 30%.
The decrease is a direct result of the proactive steps we’ve taken over the past year, improving our sustainability stance and providing a more environmentally conscious service for both customers and suppliers.
This has been achieved through several green initiatives, from switching to electric forklifts, and recycled shrink wrap, to refining transport systems and networks. Plus, by exploring backhauling solutions with hauliers, we have shortened travel routes and, as a result, cut our carbon footprint.
We have also taken advantage of digital opportunities, investing in software for international video calls, flexible working from home options, and transitioning to a fully paperless office.
If there’s anything other businesses can learn from our experience, it’s that the small things really do add up. We’ve not done anything transformational in the past 12 months, but the simple actions we have taken have led to real, tangible change.
