A Record Breaking Year
Continued success for Pricecheck after £54m+ turnover recorded for 2016/17
Staff numbers rise to 100
More new hires and graduates on the way
Pricecheck has recorded a turnover of £54.7m for 2016/17 – representing an increase of £11.11m on last year in a record-breaking year for the company.
The Sheffield based, family-owned business recently moved to its new premises in Beighton in 2016 and has continued to grow in 2017.
Pricecheck is an international distributor of toiletries, cosmetics and other branded consumer goods and exports to over 75 countries around the world and deals directly with key global suppliers.
The company is also a second-generation, family-owned business, established in 1978 by the parents of Mark Lythe and Debbie Harrison who now run the company as joint managing directors.
Debbie Harrison said: “After winning the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in 2015, we’ve gone from strength to strength. We’ve increased the number of countries we export to and have further developed the strong relationships we have with key direct suppliers from across the globe.
“Seeing the turnover grow from £40m to over £54m in the last three years has been a tremendous achievement for all involved and we couldn’t be happier, but now the aim for the business is to reach £100m by 2020.”
Pricecheck has also recently welcomed new members to their growing team. Andy Fairweather joins the buying team from Maplin in Sheffield, Jonathan Garnett joins from Harper James Solicitors in Sheffield, as well as Jessica Barber who joins the firm’s business development function.
It’s also been a successful year for Pricecheck’s recruitment programme, with offers of full-time employment given to each of the graduates who joined as part of the company’s placement scheme from Sheffield Hallam University. HR Manager Lucy Goddard said:
“We’re extremely proud of our relationship with Sheffield Hallam University and have been delighted with the placement students we’ve received in the four years we’ve been working together.
“This year has been truly exceptional and we’re excited to welcome back the students we had here in 2016 into full-time roles.”
