We’ve all been there; headed to the shops knowing exactly what we need and ended up with more after spotting a bargain or something that will come in handy, or impulsively buying a snack or post-shopping treat.

Research in the United States has shown that impulse buying accounts for 40-80% of purchases, with over 87% of shoppers admitting to making impulse buys.  Therefore, if you’re a retailer you should really be taking advantage of this behaviour.
